Come along for a delightful day of touring a beautiful and historic part of Richmond. Our first stop will be lovely Agecroft Hall; an Elizabethan Estate in the heart of the city. After a guided tour of the home we will then visit the "jewel of the city", the Jefferson Hotel. While there we will enjoy a delicious lunch in the Valentine Room and then receive a tour of this world famous hotel.
7:30 AM: Depart the Hampton Roads area. We will serve a breakfast snack on board the coach as we make our way to Richmond.
10:00 AM: Arrive at Agecroft Hall for a guided tour. This home stands on the rolling banks of the James River. It is a remarkable Tudor Estate. The manor house was actually built in England in the 15th Century. In 1925 Thomas Williams had it dismantled and sent to Richmond where it was remarkably reconstructed and restored. Today it stands in a beautiful setting that reminds one of its original place in Lancashire, England.
12: Noon: Depart for the lovely Jefferson Hotel. This Richmond Landmark was opened in 1895. It was financed by wealthy businessman Lewis Ginter. The hotel showcases imported marble and decorative works throughout. It has a famous staircase and glorious stained glass windows plus a wonderful statue of Jefferson. A delicious lunch will be served in the private dining room, the Valentine Room. We will also have a tour of the hotel.
3:00 PM: Depart for the Hampton Roads area.
5:00 - 6:00 PM: Arrive home.
PRICE: $109 per person. Trip cancellation waiver fee is included in the price.
TERMS: Trip includes round trip motor coach transportation, lunch, theater and the services of a tour director for the day. All gratuities are included except those of driver and tour director.
